There are 8 local Ramblers Groups in the Lincolnshire Area plus a further one, Lincolnshire Walking Group (for people in their 20s, 30s and 40s), which covers the whole of Lincolnshire from the Humber to the Wash.
All our Groups organise regular walks and social events, and some have footpath maintenance teams who keep an eye on the condition of the Rights-of-Way in their area and rectify faults found.
The map below shows the approximate area covered by each Group

Founded in 1970, we organise a varied programme of led walks in the Lincolnshire countryside and further afield
We are a lively, friendly and broad-age range group and you’re very welcome to try walking with us, or to get involved in looking after paths and green spaces and opening up new places to explore. On alternate Sundays throughout the year, we have full-day walks which are usually 12-15km in length. From April to August when the extended daylight allows, we have evening walks every Wednesday, which are usually 6-8km in length and from October to April in the shorter daylight months, we have fortnightly alternate Wednesday/Thursday morning walks of a similar length to the evening walks but these are followed by an optional lunch at a pub or cafe.
Every year, we organise three long weekend walking holidays to places such as the Peak District and the Yorkshire Pennines for members only and every other year a 6-day coach holiday to Scotland. We also have a number of social events during the year for our members where we enjoy dining together and chatting about all our walking adventures.
The Grantham Group walk alternate Thursdays (leisurely 4 to 6 miles), alternate Sundays (normally 8 to 10 miles) and Wednesdays once a month from March to October (leisurely 3 to 4 miles).
You’re very welcome to join us for a few walks (free), before you decide to become a member. All walks are leisurely or moderate and are usually within 20 miles of Grantham. We have a morning coffee stop on all walks and on Sunday walks we also have a picnic lunch stop. Dogs are welcome but must be kept under control at all times please. Come along and meet us - we look forward to welcoming you.
Our group was formed in 1980 and we currently have around 290 members. We are one of the larger groups in the county, and all age groups are welcome. We have a regular programme of walks, Wednesday, 7 and 10 miles, Sunday 6, 10 and 15 miles. Details are on our website. Newcomers are always welcome. Just come along and give it a try. Obviously, if people enjoy walking with us, after two or three walks, we would expect them to join the Ramblers.
We are a friendly Group providing a varied programme of over 150 led walks a year, to encourage people to get outside, discover how walking can boost health and happiness, and make new friends. In addition we do our best to look after our local footpaths so that they can be enjoyed by all.
We offer guided walks from 2 to 15 miles, with occasional longer walks as well as 4 coach trips a year further afield. Our walks are generally weekly on Wednesdays and Sundays, with short strolls of 2 miles on Mondays and Ambles of 4 - 6 miles on Wednesdays once a month. Lincoln Group membership is around 290. Our catchment area for membership is typically Lincoln city and surrounding Lincolnshire villages. You can find details of all our upcoming walks on this website and see photographs taken on recent walks on 'Lincoln Ramblers' Facebook page.
You are welcome to come along on one or two of our walks to try them out and get to know us. We look forward to seeing you. If you would like further details of a particular walk, feel free to contact the leader whose telephone number will be found on our group walks finder.

Scunthorpe and District walk every Wednesday and Sunday. You are welcome to come on up to 3 walks to see if you like the experience. You will find us a very friendly group and it’s a great way to get out into the countryside, get some fresh air and exercise and make new friends along the way. You will be walking with experienced walkers who are always glad to help and advise you if you are new to rambling. We also have a programme of social events which include monthly meals, Christmas lunches and dinners and treasure hunts.
We organize several coach trips a year enabling us to walk in other areas including The Peak District and The Yorkshire Dales. We also organise 2 walking holidays a year one in Britain and one abroad so there will be lots of opportunities for you to socialise with your new friends.
Why not give us a try, you have everything to gain and nothing to lose. We were all new to rambling once so we know how daunting it can be, at first, to be with people you don’t know and be unsure what to do. Don’t worry we love to welcome new members and will help in any way we can; if you need any advice contact us and we will be glad to help.
The Skegness & Horncastle group covers the eastern part of Lincolnshire, stretching from the parish of Friskney in the south, Wragby in the West and Theddlethorpe All Saints in the north and includes the major towns of Skegness, Horncastle, Mablethorpe, Spilsby and Alford. Our group has 105 parishes and 655 public rights of way in its area. Our group have a diverse membership of around 70 people who organise a regular programme of walks throughout the east Lincolnshire area, including the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB and the coastal area. Most walks tend to be 8 to 10 miles in length with a few shorter 4 to 6 mile walks. We are a small friendly group who welcome newcomers to come along and explore the footpaths and bridleways of the Lincolnshire countryside. Please wear appropriate footwear and bring a packed lunch and drink on day walks. In addition to our walks programme, the Group monitors the condition of the local public footpaths and work to resolve footpath issues for the benefit of the local community and visitors to the area.
The Sleaford Group usually walks within the county. Walks are normally circular. Sunday walks are generally on alternate weekends, 8 to 10 miles, starting at 10am. There is a morning break and a half hour lunch stop, but please remember to bring your own food and drink. During the Spring and Summer months there is an extensive programme of Thursday evening walks, starting at 7pm and are generally 4 to 5 miles.
Look out for the coach trip to take us out of the county, usually for a long walk 8 to 10 miles, a short walk 4 to 5 miles or just to visit the location for pleasure.
Spalding Ramblers walk throughout the year in mostly South Lincolnshire but also in neighbouring counties. We walk on Sundays usually 7-8 miles with occasional midweek shorter evening walks. Our Striders group meets on the first Thursday of every month for an approximate 5 mile walk followed by lunch in a local hostelry. Exercise and a social lunch in one.
Newcomers are always welcome. Just come along and give it a try. Obviously, if people enjoy walking with us, after two or three walks, we would hope they would join the Ramblers.
